Oblivisco
I have these moments where I know I have to do something. I tell myself, "I will do it right away!" I turn to do it, and I can't remember what it was anymore.
This wouldn't be maddening if it were a trivial matter. The problem is that it's a non-trivial matter, and that upsets me all the more. Growing more upset makes it harder to remember what it was, and before long I've forgotten that I even needed to do anything.
No wonder the Latin term "forgetfulness" is the origin of the English word oblivion.
