A pleasant surprise

While walking to the department office today, I passed the computer lab and spotted a white robe with a black veil. That's usually the sign of a Dominican sister, and so she was, one of the Nashville Dominicans in fact. It turns out they have six students at USM doing graduate studies during the summer, two of them in mathematics education. I spoke with her a few moments, mostly because I wanted to know if there was a Dominican house in the area. (Sadly, there is not. The sisters reside on campus during the summer.) Shortly afterwards, I met a second one. I promptly forgot their names, but it was splendid to see some religious on campus, especially Dominican sisters!
