The bicycle, a thing of beauty

It's spring, so I've been riding my bicycle regularly. I looked down at my shadow one recent morning while the sun stood behind me, and noticed how the silhouette of the wheels spinning at one rate and my feet rising and falling at another. Meanwhile, my body makes small little adjustments to balance the entire system. What a delight it is to ride such a beautiful mechanism! Very few inventions have impressed me so greatly. I'll have to study the mathematics of bicycle mechanics and construction someday. Or maybe I could get a student to do it instead; that would make for a great research project. :-)

It would be a beautiful and eminently practical project!

I think that the answer to the question of "What Would Jesus Drive?" is "A bicycle."
