From the "funny because it's true" file

A psychology professor had finished teaching his students about autism, and assigned a report. The guidelines were as follows.

  • Find a professor in the history department who lies somewhere on the autistic spectrum. Interview that person, and ask about the challenges of working as a professor in the history department.
  • Find a professor in the biology department who lies somewhere on the autistic spectrum. Interview that person, and ask about the challenges of working as a professor in the biology department.
  • Find a professor in the math department who does not lie somewhere on the autistic spectrum. Interview that person, and ask about the challenges of working as a professor in the math department.
(I forget where I learned this joke, but every listener has found it hilarious. If the essence of humor is a kernel of truth, what does that say?)

I liked it - esp the part about the history dept. Few with autism.

Now Asperger's Syndrome.
