* I tried to give Wuthering Heights a second chance recently, by watching some adaptation my wife had placed in our Netflix queue. Despite a spectacular performance by Tom Hardy (who looked more or less the way I had always imagined Heathcliff to look) it still strikes me as a petty, pointless story. It's not even depressing.
